The materials contained on this Program Info page are here to assist you in successfully completing the course. Please note that these are not the course materials themselves.
You will want to study the materials found in the PTK Prepare to Teach Workshop, your main course "text book" for the course on your Courses page, as well as the Recommended Resources found on the PTK Study Plan. You will also want to study your subject area's Refresher Course. The exams can cover anything contained in the Standards for your Professional Teaching Knowledge exam for that test; or the subject area Standards on your subject area test.
While you will learn the majority of the necessary materials online, not all of the material covered on the test will be in the online materials. If you do not have a background in a particular Standard and still find it confusing after consulting your online materials, you will want to consult the Recommended Resource for that Standard to get a better understanding.
What you will learn
- How to properly navigate the course materials to best learn the information necessary to pass the test.
- How to best structure your essay(s) to receive a passing grade.
- Additional skills for the classroom which will help beyond the scope of the exam.
- How to study to maximize your learning and minimize your time spent learning the materials.
Course program
